| General Overview | Being one of six children, Shirley has a BIG personality to make up for her height, being extremely outgoing and getting attached to people she sees often or will be seeing often. She is extraordinarily undisciplined in nature, but makes up for her erraticness with extreme skill behind the helm of a small ship or craft. She flies like she's got a suicide wish, though at her fingers, she has complete control, no matter how tight a space or crowded space is. | Personal History | Shirley has had a rather uneventful life up until she was into her high school years when she began to blossom as a woman and began to take advantage of the attention that brought her. She never grew much in height, but gained confidence enough to be on the swim and diving teams, though never really at the top of the team. She graduated with top grades, showing that she is bright, applying for Starfleet Academy and getting into the Class of 2370, despite her height. The rest of her family was close to 6 feet tall, so it was presumed that she would eventually have a growth spurt. That never came and she graduated in 2370 right in the middle of her class, her stellar flight skills that had landed her in one of the elite flight squads balanced out by a remarkable number of demerits for violating flight rules and standards. She excelled in both powered and unpowered flight across nearly every craft she flew, though she graduated 19th in her Flight Control class due to her difficulty in practicing flying starships. After her graduation, Shirley was assigned to USS Bonne Homme Richard, a Nebula-class ship where she was assigned to fly shuttlecraft. Two years later when the ship was being decommissioned, Shirley was reassigned to the Defiant-class program given her skills flying small craft and shortly thereafter was assigned to USS Harbinger under the command of Commander Tigris and Lieutenant Commander Celeste Tiae. After a 7-month stint on the ship and a promotion to Junior Grade Lieutenant, she was reassigned to USS The Sullivans after being requested by Commander Tiae. |
